Frequently asked questions

Answers on reservations, dim sum hours, the tea charge, parking, Peking duck, wedding banquets, vegetarian options and allergies.

Do I need a reservation for dim sum?

Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and holidays. Call the location directly: Vancouver (604) 423-3386 or Burnaby (604) 566-0897. Walk-ins are welcome when tables are free.

What time is dim sum served?

Dim sum is served at lunch: 9:30am–3pm daily at Burnaby, and 10am–3pm on weekdays and 9:30am–3pm on weekends at Vancouver. Dinner is 5–9:30pm at both locations.

Is there a tea charge?

Yes. As in most Cantonese restaurants, there is a tea and condiment charge of $1.99 per guest, whether you choose tea or water.

Is there a time limit at busy times?

During peak hours and public holidays we may ask tables to keep to about 90 minutes so that everyone waiting can be seated. Thank you for understanding.

Do you serve Peking duck?

Yes. Peking duck is part of both six-person set dinners: the crisp skin is carved and wrapped in thin crepes, and the meat comes back as a second course in lettuce wraps. To order a duck on its own, please call the location.

Can you host a wedding banquet or large party?

Yes. Both locations host wedding banquets, birthday banquets and company dinners, with four wedding menus for tables of ten. Call the location to ask about dates, room options and pricing.

Do you have vegetarian or vegan dim sum?

Burnaby's dim sum menu marks vegan items, including plain rice rolls and vegetable spring rolls, plus three-mushroom crystal dumplings. At either location, ask your server for vegetarian options.

I have a food allergy. What should I do?

Please tell your server about any allergy before you order. Items containing peanuts are marked on our printed menu, and the kitchen handles nuts, shellfish, gluten and other allergens.

Can I order takeout?

Yes. You can order takeout online for either location, or call the restaurant. Eco-friendly takeout containers are 50¢ each and paper bags 75¢.

How do I get to the Vancouver location?

We are on the second floor of Marine Gateway at 470 SW Marine Drive, right beside Marine Drive Station on the Canada Line. Marine Gateway has an underground parkade; ask our host about current parking arrangements.

Is the Vancouver location in the MICHELIN Guide?

Yes. Neptune Palace at Marine Gateway is listed in the MICHELIN Guide Vancouver for its Cantonese cooking and dim sum.

Where exactly is the Burnaby location?

We are on the upper level of The Amazing Brentwood at 4525 Lougheed Highway, unit 2307, next to Brentwood Town Centre Station on the Millennium Line.

Where do I park at Brentwood?

The Amazing Brentwood has a parkade operated by the shopping centre. Parking rules can change, so please ask our host about current validation when you arrive, or call (604) 566-0897 before your visit.
